Ukrainian Congress Committee of America

The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) is a non-partisan, non-profit community-based organization headquartered in New York, NY, serving the government and policy advocacy needs of the Ukrainian-American community since 1940. Operating with a national office in New York City and a dedicated Washington, D.C. bureau known as the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS), UCCA provides comprehensive advocacy and representation services to nearly 2 million Americans of Ukrainian descent across all 50 states.

UCCA specializes in government relations and political advocacy, leveraging its extensive network of 30 national Ukrainian-American organizations and local grassroots chapters to amplify the voice of Ukrainian Americans in civic and cultural affairs. The organization conducts international election observer missions to Ukrainian presidential and parliamentary elections, maintains active representation at United Nations briefings and committee meetings on behalf of the worldwide Ukrainian diaspora, and coordinates legislative advocacy efforts through its Washington, D.C. bureau.

Beyond direct advocacy, UCCA supports government engagement through publications including The Ukrainian Quarterly, the first English-language scholarly journal devoted to Ukraine published continuously since 1944. The organization organizes academic conferences throughout the United States and empowers Ukrainian-American community representatives to engage with print and television journalists on matters affecting Ukraine. As a founding member of both the Central and East European Coalition and the Ukrainian World Congress, UCCA serves as a vital bridge between American government institutions and the Ukrainian-American community, facilitating informed policy dialogue and international cooperation on matters of strategic importance.
